The Prairie

Mid Stage

Housing Overview

Level 3 serves residents in the middle stages of dementia, where communication becomes more limited and fragmented. Our focus is on fostering connection through compassionate engagement, nonverbal communication, and sensory-based activities. At this stage, residents typically require significant physical assistance, including help with feeding, two-person transfers, and the use of equipment such as Hoyer lifts or sit-to-stand devices. Most residents use wheelchairs for mobility and benefit from an environment designed for safety, comfort, and calm.
